
Jin Zhicheng is undoubtedly recognized as one of the most talented French horn students of his generation in China. Currently studying at the Central Conservatory of Music, he is a top-notch innovative talent in the BOB program of the Central Conservatory of Music, and studies under Professor Man Yi, a renowned Chinese French horn virtuoso and doctoral supervisor. Jin Zhicheng has received high praise from French horn masters around the world in the masterclasses of the Beijing International French Horn Festival and the "Yifei Congtian" French Horn Summer Camp.
As a soloist, Jin Zhicheng has been invited to collaborate with many orchestras on multiple occasions, including the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, the Plzeň Philharmonic Orchestra, the Jeju Symphony Orchestra, the Central Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, the Kunming Nie'er Symphony Orchestra, the Changsha Symphony Orchestra, the Nanchang Symphony Orchestra, and the China Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Since the age of 11, Jin Zhicheng has received awards in various competitions, including the second place in the Brass Instrument Group A of the St. Petersburg Mravinsky International Youth Music Competition in Russia, the second place in the Wind Instrument Group of the Seventh Scholarship Competition of the High School Affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music, and the first place in the Professional Youth Group of the Alexander (China) French Horn Competition in 2021.
In the 17th Tchaikovsky International Music Competition in 2023, at the age of 16, Jin Zhicheng won the silver medal in the Brass Group with his unique vocal charm and musical talent. He also performed in the award-winning concert with the renowned conductor Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, receiving high praise from the master. In August of the same year, Jin Zhicheng won the first place in the French Horn Group of the 18th International Brass Competition in Jeju Island, South Korea.
In the just-concluded 75th Prague Spring International Music Competition in 2024, the 17-year-old Jin Zhicheng won the first place and won four awards, namely the Audience Prize, the Czech Radio Prize, the Prize of the City of Prague, and the Bärenreiter Prize. He was also invited to perform at the 80th Prague Spring International Music Festival in 2025.
In 2025 He obtained Aeolus International Competition third prize and The Most Popular with the Audience Award In the same year, he won the first place in the French horn category at the China Golden Bell Music Award.
